About The Impact Digital & ITS PRIVACY POLICY

The Impact Digital operates as a real-time and programmatic advertising network platform, facilitating global communication between advertisers and marketers and driving engagement, leads, and transactions within their digital marketing strategies. The Impact Digital Media, on a global scale, provides advertising intelligence and digital media solutions to brands and advertisers. We aim to enhance and simplify digital marketing, assisting advertisers in achieving their marketing objectives and return on investments through programmatic media purchasing across all devices and channels. Our commitment lies in ensuring precise digital advertising delivery to the right audience, with the right message, at the right time and location. As an independent trading desk, we employ automated media purchasing and optimization techniques and have established a robust private marketplace for our publishers, maximizing the performance of our campaigns. Our headquarters are located in Dubai.

This Privacy Policy is presented to inform you about how our ad optimization technology and services, including Real-Time Bidding Service (collectively referred to as the “Service”), collect and process information on behalf of two key groups: (i) advertisers, agencies, ad networks, and other media-buying clients collectively referred to as “Demand Partners” or “Clients”; and (ii) website owners, mobile application owners, ad networks, ad exchanges, sell-side platforms, and other suppliers of advertising inventory collectively referred to as “Supply Partners.” We also license and utilize third-party ad serving and media buying platforms, including those enabled for Real-Time Bidding (RTB) to deliver advertisements, known as “Technology Partners.” This policy also outlines our privacy practices concerning our corporate Website, theimpact.digital. Should you have any further inquiries after reviewing the Privacy Policy, please do not hesitate to contact us at accounts@theimpact.digital.

A GENERAL NOTE ON INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES AND PRIVACY

Before you delve into this Privacy Policy, we suggest acquainting yourself with the following concepts and terminology to gain a better understanding of how The Impact Digital and its Clients utilize data concerning you and other Internet users to enhance the display of more relevant and engaging advertisements during your internet browsing.

Ad Tags: Ad Tags are snippets of code that facilitate the delivery of online advertisements in designated ad spaces on websites and online applications.

Cookies: Cookies are small text files that web servers typically transmit to users’ computers when they visit a website. These cookies can be accessed or modified when the user loads a website or views an advertisement from the domain that originally generated the cookie. Companies employ cookies to collect and transmit information about a user’s website visits, such as the number of visits, average time spent, pages viewed, navigation history on the website, and other statistics. This information aids in enhancing a user’s online experience, whether by storing passwords or enabling companies to monitor and improve website loading times. Additionally, cookies may be used to track a user’s online browsing habits or shopping activities and to target specific users with advertisements. It’s important to note that cookies cannot access other data on a user’s hard drive, personally identify individuals, or act as malware or viruses. Users who prefer not to accept cookies can configure their internet browser to notify them when they receive a cookie or to prevent cookies from being stored on their hard drive. Further information about cookies can be found at http://www.allaboutcookies.org/cookies/.

Personally Identifiable Information: We define personally identifiable information (abbreviated as “PII”) as “data that can be utilized to uniquely identify, contact, or locate an individual or can be combined with other sources to uniquely identify an individual.” Examples of PII include names, addresses, social security numbers, email addresses, and so on. This definition aligns with the industry standard used by most internet companies. Information collected by various internet companies that does not meet the criteria of PII is referred to as “non-PII.”

Real-Time Bidding: Real-Time Bidding (often referred to as “RTB”) is a method of acquiring online or mobile advertising inventory by responding instantly to an ad request with a “bid,” typically based on cost per thousand impressions (“CPM”), in order to secure that specific impression and the opportunity to display an ad to the user. RTB buyers leverage various data sources, including third parties, to precisely target the ads they display.

Web Beacons & Pixels: A web beacon comprises a small piece of code that represents a request for a graphic image on a web page, within an online application, or in an email. While a graphic image can be associated with the web beacon, it is not always necessary. Typically, when an image is present, it is designed to blend seamlessly into the background of the web page, application, or email. Often, an online data collection company places a beacon without an accompanying image, making it invisible to the user and occupying the smallest possible screen space. This is referred to as a “pixel” and essentially functions as an invisible web beacon. Pixels and web beacons serve various purposes, including site traffic reporting, counting unique visitors, auditing and reporting for advertising, personalization, and other functions. They achieve this by writing or modifying cookies on each user’s computer. Like cookies, they cannot record keystrokes, access personal files on your computer, or replicate like viruses. The majority of pixels and web beacons, including those employed by The Impact Digital, collect only anonymous data. However, some pixels may collect PII, especially in the case of email containing a web beacon. In such instances, the data collected through the web beacon may be linked to the recipient’s email address or other identifying information. It’s important to note that The Impact Digital does not utilize beacons that collect PII, nor does it engage in the business of direct marketing mailers.

The Impact Digital’s SERVICE & DATA COLLECTION PRACTICES

We Do Not Gather Personally Identifiable Information.

At The Impact Digital, we do not collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) through our Service. We explicitly prohibit our Clients from transmitting PII to us and take all necessary precautions to prevent the receipt of PII from our Clients. If, despite our efforts, we receive PII from a Client or inadvertently send PII received from a Client to a third party, we will take immediate steps to remove the PII from our servers and records. We will also ensure that the third parties have eliminated the PII from their records.

Usage of Cookies and Web Beacons—Including by Our Clients.

We utilize cookies and web beacons for specific purposes within our operations. These tools help us track the delivery of advertising impressions accurately, allowing us to attribute them correctly to a Demand Partner and invoice them accordingly. Additionally, we employ cookies to monitor the frequency of exposure to a particular advertisement, aligning with a Demand Partner’s campaign objectives related to frequency capping.

You Can Opt Out As part of our involvement in the ad network industry, The Impact Digital collaborates with various third-party ad platforms, referred to as Technology Partners. Some of these Technology Partners offer behavioral targeting solutions by placing cookies on user browsers from their respective ad-serving domains. In such cases, The Impact Digital adheres to the privacy policies of these individual platforms. For general information about opting out of cookies, please visit http://www.worldprivacyforum.org/cookieoptout.html. To opt out of behavioral or interest-based targeting, you can click on the opt-out button provided by our third-party platforms, accessible here and here.

Please bear in mind that if you choose to opt out but later delete, block, or otherwise restrict cookies, your opt-out preferences may not function as intended. Even if you have previously opted out, accessing the website from a different computer or internet browser will require you to opt out again in that specific environment. Additionally, opt-out preferences are browser and computer-specific and will reset if you install a new browser version. Deleting a cookie or opting out does not mean you will cease receiving online advertising altogether; it simply means that you will not receive targeted advertisements. Once you opt out of online behavioral advertising, The Impact Digital will respect your choice and cease using the information we collect about you to serve targeted ads or personalized content. However, there are key points to understand about opt-outs:

Opt-out does not block Ads – You will continue to see online ads from The Impact Digital Ad network, but these will not be interest-based targeted ads.

Opt-out does not block data collection – The Impact Digital can still gather data about your browsing activity, which helps us serve you ads and support other services. However, we cannot use this data to deliver targeted ads or personalized content.

Opt-outs will be annulled once you delete opt-out cookies – Your opt-out status is recorded by The Impact Digital using opt-out cookies stored on your device. Deleting this cookie will remove your opt-out status, and The Impact Digital will once again show you targeted ads until you explicitly opt out again.

Opt-out duration is for 5 years – If you opt out of The Impact Digital Ad network, you will remain opted out of targeted advertising by The Impact Digital for five years from the day of your opt-out, regardless of section 3 above. After five years, you may receive targeted interest-based advertising unless you opt out again.

Opt-out is browser specific – Your opt-out action is specific to the browser from which you have opted out. Therefore, if you use multiple browsers, you must opt out separately for each one.

Opting Out Through The Network Advertising Initiative

You also have the option to opt out of receiving cookies from certain third-party companies, including those compliant with the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI). To do so, visit http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp. Here, you will find a mechanism for opting out of non-PII collection by various Demand Partners and other Internet companies, including third-party data providers. If you choose to opt out through the NAI, refer to the FAQ section on the NAI website for a better understanding of their opt-out process.
